Guru Paramparā - The Teaching Lineage

Lord Dakṣiṇāmūrti is the teaching form of Śiva. Out of compassion, teaches the truth of the self by showing chinmudrā- the hand symbol of oneness between Jīva and Īśvara, indicating one non-dual reality of the self.  This form marks the beginning of the Guru Paramparā. Our salutations to Lord Dakṣiṇāmūrti, who is also referred to as Aṣṭhamūrti, which denotes the eight-fold attributes indicating the sun, the moon, the five elements and the disciple, as the eighth factor.

Ādi Śankarācarya

Ādi Śankarācārya is a crucial link in the Guru Paramparā. His significance is in the flood of compassion He has shown towards posterity by writing the Bhāśyam - a commentary that details a word-by-word explanation for all the important texts which comprise the Prasthāna Trayam. Ādi Śankara is truly an avatāra of Lord Śiva, respectfully referred to as Bhaśyakāra. Salutations to Śankarā for keeping the Paramparā alive, especially at the most crucial period and putting to rest all confusions and deviations from the Truth that were arising from multiple directions in the society back then. Gratitude to Śankarā for reviving the culture and tradition of Sanātana Dharma way of life and the teaching of Advaita Vēdānta with such precision and objectivity. Even today, He shines bright as a beacon of guidance for jignyāsus - the seekers of truth.

Pūjya Śrī Swāmi Dayānanda Saraswatī is a YugaPuruṣa - The man of the entire era. As a traditional and unparalleled teacher of Advaita Vēdānta, Swāmiji has contributed beyond measure to humanity, especially to jignyāsus. Out of his compassion, He has dedicated more than five decades of his life, to unfold the teachings of Vēdānta for students all over the world. Swāmiji's unflinching śraddha towards the Śāstra and his commitment towards the Guru Paramparā- the unbroken chain of teaching tradition, makes Him a glorious addition to it. It appears as if Swāmiji has taken over the torch from the hands of Ādi Śankara.  The clarity in Swamiji's teachings is an invaluable asset for the students of Vēdānta. Our salutations to the lotus feet of Guru Dayānanda for guiding posterity with infinite compassion and inspiring us to always stay connected to the Guru Paramparā.

Swāminī Darshanananda Saraswati is a disciple of Pūjya Śrī Swāmi Dayānanda Saraswatī. Having been under the direct guidance and tutelage of Pūjya Swāmiji for several years, she has truly imbibed the essence and wisdom of His teaching. Her total surrender to her Guru and a firm grasp of the vision of Vēdānta, combined with the rich life-experiences and a witty sense of humour, make her a rare, inspiring and loving teacher. Having learnt Carnatic music for over 30 years, Swamini is steeped into devotion through music, which has played a major part in her absorption of Vēdānta. Her sense of humility makes it difficult perhaps, for one to know her depth. But that is one of her takeaways from her Guru. She conducts classes on Vēdānta for students who opt for the daily online classes.
